Two Hospitalized After Early Morning Scottsdale Shooting; Suspect Detained

Scottsdale police responded to a shooting early Sunday morning that left two people with gunshot wounds, and authorities say a suspect has been taken into custody.

Officers were dispatched to an area near Saddlebag Trail and Camelback Road at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 6, after receiving reports of gunshots. When they arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police.

Both of the wounded individuals were transported to a hospital for treatment. In a statement provided this morning, Scottsdale police said the condition of the two victims had not been confirmed in detail.

A suspect in connection with the shooting was detained by officers on the scene. Police emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The incident prompted the closure of Camelback Road between Buckboard Trail and Civic Center Plaza while investigators worked the scene. The closure was put in place as officers processed the area for evidence and secured the neighborhood.

Scottsdale police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances that led to the shooting. Authorities said they would provide additional information as the case develops.
