A deadly collision shuts down a major artery
Three people died and at least one other was critically injured in a three-vehicle crash on State Route 95 near Lake Havasu City on Tuesday, according to local reports. The head-on collision happened near Mile Marker 175, prompting a multi-agency emergency response and hours of road closures.
Emergency crews battle to free trapped victims
Fire and medical units from the Lake Havasu City Fire Department were among the first on scene. Engine 5 and Medic 1 responded along with multiple other units and additional ambulances, according to the Havasu Now scanner feed. Two occupants remained trapped in the wreckage after the crash.

Engine 2 was canceled en route as resources shifted to the active scene. Traffic was blocked in both directions and diverted at McCulloch Boulevard South.
Road closures disrupt travel for hours
The Lake Havasu City Police Department closed southbound State Route 95 at McCulloch Boulevard South due to the fatal traffic collision near Mile Post 174, according to a post on the city's official Facebook page. Access to State Route 95 from Sara Park Road was also closed.

The department's Crash Investigation Team responded to conduct the investigation. The Arizona Department of Transportation assisted with the closure. State Route 95 remained closed for several hours, stretching from Acoma Boulevard South to Oro Grande Boulevard.
Investigation continues
The Today's News-Herald reported that three people were killed and another was critically injured in the three-vehicle crash. The newspaper also published a follow-up report noting that three victims were hospitalized after the accident.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Lake Havasu City Police Department.
